Sometimes I have to save my ideas, that I don’t have time for.
By recording them somewhere safe, you know that you have them for a “rainy day” (we get lots and lots of rainy days in Norway).
- Create a secret store of creativity. No idea is a bad idea. Maybe it won’t work for one project, but it might be perfect for another project.
- It could be a note book where you write down all the ideas.
- It could be a sketch book with just drawings or watercolours of what is in your mind.
- My favourite is a box of cards with the writing on one side and a painting on the other side. Then I can pull out the ideas in any combination and mix and match the best ideas for a particular project. How to make the box
I make this cards, from old paintings.
Make a box for the cards:

Dear Magny this is a very clever and inspiring idea! I usually have like a journal book while I take notes of flying ideas in my mind for later on projects that I don’t want to forget or that I want to develop more in details! But I really love your colorful cards…I am going to do that…is really cute! <3 love sent to you <3
Oh Great, how cool !! Thank you, it is very inspiring to me that you like the idea! hug
It’s a lovely idea! I like everything you do…big hugs <3
It is funny, but mostly, I get my best ideas when no paper or pencil is in reach. Therefore I make notes on my phone. Doesn’t look so nice than your lovely like your box and cards. But it works great for me.
Oh cool. The phone ideas is great too.
You just inspired me to get all my magazine cuts and rough drawings and stored ideas and create some scrapbooking project I’ve been pondering for some time. Maybe it’s the time now… I truly admire your colourful watercolour sketches (if I may call it that way).
I’m so happy to see your post. I love the idea and hope to explore this more in detail. I’ve always wanted to have some cards to go through for ideas on art journaling. I truly need someone to make me some so that I can just pull a few cards out for inspiration. It seems much more inspiring to have someone else give me inspiring prompts. I wish I could just find someone that will do this for me 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
Magny I would like you to check my last post it is an experiment I made on painting with colors from the nature…let me know what you think! <3
