Each brush in the set is made with synthetic bristles that mimic the qualities of natural hair. This allows for excellent paint retention and smooth application, making it easier to create beautiful washes and intricate details. The brushes come in various sizes, providing versatility for different painting techniques, from broad strokes to fine lines. The bamboo roll-up case not only protects the brushes but also it is a practical aspect, the roll-up is like ventilation, and making it easy to carry them wherever inspiration strikes.

After 8 years

Overall, the Raphael Travel Watercolor Brush Set is a practical choice for both amateur and experienced artists. Raphael brush are most often seen as quality, but this watercolor brushes isn’t of its company’s reputation. These synthetic brushes Raphael have snap, but, after 6-8 years they wear out and lose their shape.  But, maybe that is typical for all synthetic brushes? I do think they now can be good for acrylic paints, but not for watercolors. If you look at the lines on the photo under, you see the lines are not great.

Should you get the Raphael Travel Watercolor Brush Set?

Its combination of quality, the portability, and variety of tip makes it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking at brushes at a good price. What I like a lot whit this set is roll- up and the size and how lithe/small/short they are, that is a good thing.

Given their inexpensive price you get what you pay for. Still, whether you’re painting sketches in a park, at a café, or maybe in your studio, this set is sure to meet your artistic needs while keeping your tools safe and organized. When we like to keep things lightweight this maybe something for you too. I’m looking forward to using the roll- up for many years to come and fill it with new brushes.  I give this set of brushes 4 out of 6.
