Peek into my art sketchbook
Hi my friends and followers. I am so excited to share some new work I would like to show you. Today you get a little peek into my art sketchbook. I keep it for testing colors, it is my “Gymnastic book for coloring”.
If you want to run a Marathon or swim a mile, then you have to do some training – this is part of your training to paint a beautiful painting.
For this exercise, I don’t think about the shapes or composition. I just use it as a way to mix and contrast colors and see how they meet together and give an impression. They are like boys and girls meeting and enjoying to be together for the first time. It is exciting.
I look for colors and combinations that give me energy. It is an experimentation that I will use later in a composition.
There is no rule that says you have to end up with a finished painting when you create!
I made a video where I share the first part of the process of mixing an ink drawing with abstract color doodling.
If you like painting videos, come along to my YouTube channel where I upload new videos of my techniques and processes every now and then.

HI! Thank you and thank you for your visits!!
Enjoyed the art lessen. For me water color so difficult and would take so so much practice.
I see that some love watercolour and some just don´t. But if you practice a little, there is a chance you get hooked. 🙂 but I guess you have to be patient.
So cool! I love looking through other people’s sketchbooks. For the speed sketching, were you drawing from life or from memory?
Hi! Thank you. I had the flowers in front of me, drawing from memory is more of a challenge for me when it comes to flowers.
Either way, it’s impressive!
Thanks 🙂
