Review: The Robax Palette
Hej there! For my 50th birthday, I got this amazing present of a Sennelier watercolor set of 100 colors, so I needed something to organize the colors. I must admit, I have an extensive watercolor collection and I’ve got enough watercolors to paint the whole town!
The size and how much The Robax Palette holds is mind-blowing for an artist like me. Imagine a palette that’s truly remarkable spinning within a 15-inch (38 cm) diameter and with 85 wells in the main section, a large removable mixing area, and even more mixing space underneath. You can mix to your heart’s content! Plus, there’s a removable center insert with 41 wells, designed like a flying saucer on its own painting mission. That’s a total of 126 wells.
The Robax Palette is worth exploring. These palettes are specially designed to cater to the needs of artists who crave order, versatility, and convenience. Whether you’re painting at home, on the go, working on multiple paintings, or tackling larger artworks, these palettes have you covered.
I’m using the 41-well palette as an insert with the 64-well palette. This is what I got:
- Large main palette with 64-wells (15-inch (38 cm)
- Removable 41 well insert that you can place it in the mixing area (8 inches/20 cm) you can now get a lid for this. (I don’t have the lid)
- Extra mixing area insert
- 150 half-pan to fill with paint, I got some extra just because….. (will hold 8 ml small tube size)
- The large lid, that is also an extra mixing area (Fantastic.)
- CAROUSEL that it is sitting underneath it all and makes it spin.

The palette is well-designed wells and mixing spaces made it easy to manage and blend my colors. First, I had to plan how to set up the colors, which took me a full day to plan and fill the pans with paint. But, doing this was like meditation, something I love doing.
I only use it when painting large pieces in my studio. It takes up a lot of space when I use the palette along with the large lid for mixing, so I need a big table when I work. I Removable 41 well insert can you put a lid on and bring with you and is a nice size for working most places.
The variety of well sizes allowed me to mix both small and large amounts of paint, making the painting process smooth and enjoyable. I loved how it spins and how steady it feels.
I’ve been using The Robax Palette for about 7 years now. I believe I got this package plus some extra half-pans: PACKAGE WITH PALETTE, CAROUSEL, 41-well Insert/lid and 150 WELL LINERS . It is now $140.00 + shipping. (I am not sure if they ship outside of the US)
